At Edmond New Homes, we feel the process of building a new home is simple and stress-free. But that’s because we’ve done it a few thousand times. You are not there on your own trying to figure it all out. You will have your Shaw homes team right there with you from contract, to design studio, to drafting, to construction, to closing, and even to warranty. We have experience experts in place to guide you and answer the questions we arty know you will have. And if you’re unsure what the processes, let us walk you through it.
Now let’s going over the preliminary matters after you have already signed your purchase agreement with Edmond New Homes. Now this happens before we begin moving dirt, and just you know, many things are beginning to happen. We will create a plot plan for your lot showing the location of the home on the property. The building plans will be submitted to the developer or architect to committee for their approval. Other plans will be submitted to the appropriate city or county permit office with our application for building permit. The banks will require building plans and specifications for property appraisal prior to closing of our construction loan. Also, at this time we will order windows, doors, and brick. Due to the nature of government bureaucracy, is not unusual for these processes to take 2 to 4 weeks.
Within three days after the execution of your purchase agreement, you should schedule an appointment with our design consultant to finalize the selections for your new home. This appointment should take place within two weeks from you signing the purchase agreement. A timely selection process allows us to prepare the necessary purchase orders to start the building process as soon as possible. Once all selections have a made, we will schedule a plan review with your construction manager to review all the details. You will be in good hands, as our design staff have been intimately involved in the selection of the colors you see in our award-winning model homes. When you are finished choosing your colors, we’ll finalize the selections with their signature as approved in the motion to the building phase of your home.
