Listen, there are no other builders doing podcasts, and that’s what this one is all about. We’re here to tell you the ins and outs of building your own home, your dream home with Shaw homes, the one and only best Jenks home builder in Oklahoma.
Speaker 2: (00:29)
Now, today, I want you to mentally prepare yourself because I am going to take you on a mental model home tour, through the beautiful, the lovely, the gorgeous Monterey one H this is the model that I sit in on a daily basis. This is our model in timber Creek. Jeeps, America. You heard it here first. Listen, this floor plan is amazing, or why is it amazing? Well, let me tell you, I’m so glad you’ve asked. It is amazing because this has a open floor, floor plan, concept design. So you’re coming through the home. The first thing you do when you walk through the home is you’re able to, from the front door, you can see through all the walls, and I’m not talking about x-ray vision, bro. Okay. I’m talking about openness. You’re seeing the dining room off to your right. You got the steady to your left.
Speaker 2: (01:35)
You see the stairs to your left next to the study, and then you walk a little bit further and you’re looking into the, into the living room, the great room, but there’s still openness. So you walk into the great room. You can still see the dining room. You can still see the kitchen. You see the note, you see all these little, uh, all the furniture it’s open. I wish I could. I wish I could let you know. I wish I could tap into your brain and tell you exactly what I’m seeing right now. So you can see it too, but I don’t have that ability yet I’m working on it. So when you’re in the great room of the Monterrey, check this out, you have guests over and you know what? Maybe you’re just a little bit behind on laundry. That’s okay. You know, you’re going to put it off until tomorrow with Jenks home builder.
Speaker 2: (02:26)
No big deal. Right? Well, from the great room of the Monterrey, you actually can’t see into your master bedroom. So that laundry that you haven’t put away yet, maybe it’s just sitting on your bed. Well, your guests can’t see it. How, how freaking awesome is that they can’t see into your private space. So usually, um, you’ll see that a floor plan has the room directly off of the kitchen or the nook, um, or even, um, even the great room. The master bedroom, I mean is right off in the kitchen or the nook. Um, and, uh, and maybe even the great room and we decided not to do it that way with this floor plan. Well, why did you guys decide not to do it that way with this floor plan? Colton? I am so glad you asked. Let me tell you about it. So way back in the day when I was, when I was in high school ish, um, there was this thing called wasted square footage that people talked about when building their home and guess what?
Speaker 2: (03:42)
Here’s, here’s a problem with this term wasted square footage is that doesn’t mean anything. It’s a misconception. It’s, it’s, it’s a, um, trying to think of the word, but I can’t, I can’t think of the word right now. Um, but it, it, it is only they’re meant to close off your brain. Now, let me tell you what that means. But wasted square footage is basically saying, well, you get this extra square feet that you don’t, you can’t do anything with like a hallway, like a hallway is quote, wasted square footage. Well, the problem with that statement is that hallways create privacy hallways, create security that you don’t get. If you’re, if you’re, if you don’t have hallways, if you don’t have hallways in your home, you are getting well. Like I said, you’re losing out on that, on that privacy and that security that you’d be getting otherwise.
Speaker 2: (04:50)
So as we walk into the master bedroom, it’s, it is tucked in safely and securely behind the kitchen. Now nobody would, most people don’t even know where, where it is in this home. I asked them to guess, and they just can’t do it. They can’t figure out where the master bedroom is. If that’s not safety and security, I don’t know what the heck is, because if you’ve got family, friends, and family over here, and you don’t, you, you know, maybe, maybe, uh, maybe you and your significant other, um, don’t want people looking into your, into your S your private space, your bed, your, your, your private living area in your masters quarters. Well, that’s what this, this floor plan is all about. It’s fantastic. So you are walking around the kitchen behind the kitchen, and that my friends is where you’ll find your master suite.
Speaker 2: (05:59)
Now what’s so great about this master suite. What’s so great about this master suite is that nine, nine out of 10 couples don’t wake up at the same time. What does that mean? What does that telling us? What, what does that mean cold and what could it possibly mean? Well, it means that if, uh, old John needs to wake up at 4:00 AM to get ready for work, and Cathy over here is trying to sleep in John in this floor plan. Doesn’t have to wake up, Kathy. I don’t know a Kathy and I, I guess I do know a John, but, um, I’m not referring to those people right now, but with that being said, John can go into the, into the bathroom. He can close the doors behind him. I want you to, I want you to close your eyes and picture this because these features are what makes us the best Jenks home builder in the United States of America, probably in the whole world.
Speaker 2: (07:09)
Just so you know. So close your eyes with me and imagine a master bedroom, a master bedroom that doesn’t have a closet attached to it. It’s just a room and only has two doors. It has a door leading out of the master bedroom, and then it has a door leading into the bathroom. So where’s your closet you might ask. Where, how do I, how do I change clothes? Well, that’s, what’s so great about this. What we call the snooze button feature, the students button feature gives couples the ability to sleep in while the other cup, the other half of the couple, the other person is getting ready through the cat through the, through the master bathroom and into the closet. And now can leave out of the closet into the laundry room. How does, how the heck does that work? And while there’s a door, there’s a door from the closet into the laundry room.
Speaker 2: (08:19)
So this works great going backwards because, uh, maybe Kathy’s got some friends over that, uh, that old John’s not ready to deal with. He’s coming home from work. He’s tired. It’s late. He pulls into the driveway. He pulls into the garage, gets out. He goes in through the, uh, into the laundry room, into the closet, in, through the back the bathroom. Maybe he’s got, he’s got a shower, whatever the case may be. And he can go right to bed. If he wants to, he doesn’t have to say hello to anybody. Listen, ladies and gentlemen, I know this is, this is life. This is how, how we live. Let’s just make life easier with help from your Jenks home builder. And everybody just build their home with Shaw homes, done deal said and done it’s over. Everything is so much better that way, practical floor plans. So now, now I’m in, I left the master bedroom, come back into the great room.
Speaker 2: (09:13)
And on the other side of the home, you’ve got a powder bath. You’ve got a mother-in-law suite. This one’s pretty sick. This is the biggest, this is the biggest second room suite. I don’t all of our floor plans. I mean, we’re talking, we’re talking like 12 by 14 feet, long, big, a big room. You got a bathroom, a full walk-in bathroom. I mean, I guess all bathrooms are walking this. I’m telling you this, this floor plan makes us the bestJenks home builder in the world. It’s mother-in-law suite down here. Everybody loves it. Everybody loves it. It’s fantastic. It’s great. You go upstairs going up the stairs, you get, uh, you got a game room, right? It’s top of the stairs. If you don’t want to go to the game room, guess what? You don’t have to. You go over to the, to the kids’ rooms upstairs long hallway, keeps them safe and secure, um, and keeps them from bouncing all over the place.
Speaker 2: (10:18)
Over top of the living room where people might be. So I’m just telling you this floor plan. If you haven’t seen it yet, you got to come take a look at it because this floor plan on its own by itself makes us the best Jenks home builder on the face of the planet, in the galaxy, in the heavens above, we are the best of the best of the best. Come see me. My name is Colton Cruz. I am a community manager here in timber Creek. I’ll take care of you. Come see me with build your dream home with Shaw homes.
