Speaker 1: (00:00)
Hey guys, Catherine here again with your weekly podcast for shot homes. And I was talking a little bit about building new homes in broken arrow and the broken arrow school district, and just what you’re going to be kind of receiving. Um, as far as education goes from broken arrow public schools, when building a new home in broken arrow, if you have children, um, who will be attending the school system. So we’ve kind of just gone over a little bit, um, of numbers, um, as far as, uh, diversities student population, things like that. Um, I wanted to kind of give you a little bit more information about all what broken arrow kind of offers, um, as far as extracurricular activities and things like that. So, um, we’ve got, so when building a new home in broken arrow and choosing a school district, it’s important to, um, remember how it’s extracurricular activities are very important.

Speaker 1: (01:14)
So broken arrow has about 1600 student athletes that participate in about 15 different sports at the varsity JV, freshmen and middle school levels. So I’m going to see if I can, um, name some name these for you and see if I can get, um, almost all 15. So that’s great. Um, when ever building a new home in broken arrow, that you’re going to have all of these options, um, for your kids. So it looks like, um, of course there’s football and basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, uh, golf. Um, let’s see. I believe we have rugby. Um, I’m trying to think of what else wrestling. Okay. That’s eight. What else do we have in broken arrow, um, that your children can participate in when you’re building a new home in broken arrow? Um, swimming is definitely one. We have, um, swimming. Um, I wouldn’t say that cheerleading is considered a sport, so we’ll just go ahead and put cheer down. Um, I’m trying to think of, of what else we offer, um, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf track, um, running track and field. That’s another one. So that’s 12. Um, I’m trying to think of what else we, what else we offer, um, as far as

Speaker 2: (02:59)
Sports go, um, we’ll, we’ll kind of come back to that in a minute, but when building new homes in broken arrow, it’s just really great to know that, um, you have a lot of options for your kids as far as sports goes. Um, so, you know, definitely, definitely something that you’re going to want to consider. Um, I don’t really have too much information on average class size. Um, I can tell you that, um, the school district of broken arrow, um, currently employees about, uh, 1100 certified teachers. So this includes, um, our title, one teachers, reading specialists, interventionists and enrichment specialists, um, along with regular classroom teachers. So it’s about 1100 of those out of 1100. Um, 4% of those, um, teachers, uh, will have perfect attendance. So that’s definitely something that’s really important if you have kids in school, knowing that if you do build new homes in broken arrow, um, that they are going to have teachers with good attendance, um, nationally board certified teachers, there are 24 and we employ 30 principals.

Speaker 2: (04:18)
So, um, definitely, uh, there are S let’s see, um, there are definitely are more principals than there are schools that’s because, um, a lot of the middle schools and high schools are so large that they require more than one principal. So that’s great when considering building new homes in broken arrow, um, that you know, that you’re going to have plenty of administration around. So that’s 30 principals and 26 assistant principals. So a total of, um, almost 60, um, people in an administrator position with the title of principal or assistant principal, um, there, they employ 41 school counselors, 22 media specialists, 10 actual psychologists, um, 29 speech pathologists and 15 registered nurses. So broken arrow is also a great school district. If you have to consider building new homes in broken arrow, if you have a student who has, um, any type of health issue, perhaps they’re diabetic and they need to take insulin every day, um, or if they have a health issue like that, the school will actually, um, employ a registered nurse at that location.

Speaker 2: (05:45)
So that’s another great thing to consider when building new homes in broken arrow is going to be, um, the fact that they do employ, um, registered nurses and some of their schools, depending on, um, the students that go there and how severe their medical needs are. Um, we also the broken arrow public school system. This is another great thing to consider when building new homes in broken arrow is that we employ about 237 assistance. Um, that includes paraprofessionals pre-K assistance, special ed assistants and behavior technicians. So not only do you have, um, plenty of administration and counseling, you also have assistants who are available to help teachers, um, who may have students that require a little bit of extra attention. Um, we employ 134 custodians, so the schools are all very clean. We employ approximately 166 bus drivers aids, uh, and aids on buses and approximately 200 employees work in child nutrition.

Speaker 2: (07:01)
Um, it is, uh, like I said, broken arrow. Um, public schools are great if you are considering building, um, new homes on broken arrow. There also another great thing about building new homes in broken arrow and attending broken arrow public schools is the broken arrow public schools actually. Um, it, it spans 115 square miles across Tulsa and Wagner counties. So if you’re looking specifically to, um, live in the broken arrow school district, but you want to save a little bit of money on your taxes, um, you can build in Wagner county and your tax rate will be a little bit late, although you would still be building new home in broken arrow. Um, let’s just go ahead and, um, all kind of let you know if you’re considering building new homes in north broken arrow, then the, um, schools that you are going to, that you would be attending, um, would be elementary school wise would be Liberty country, lane, primary and intermediate Creekwood timber Ridge, um, Arrowhead roads.

Speaker 2: (08:20)
And then, um, Highland park. I would also consider, um, central broken arrow. You’re going to have Oak crest, Linwood and Vandiver, and then south broken arrow. You’re going to have Wolf Creek, leisure park, Aspen Creek and spring Creek. Um, those are going to be your elementary schools, if you are considering building a new home in broken arrow. Um, as far as, um, middle schools go north, you’re going to have Centennial. Um, you were going to have, uh, well, oh, Neato Ridge. Um, and then so yes, so basically Centennial and Onita Ridge in north broken arrow, and then you were going to have, um, and central broken arrow, you’re going to have Sequoia, um, and own well Onita Ridge is, is considered kind of Northeast broken arrow. So central you’ll have Sequoia and Oliver. Um, and then south broken arrow, the middle school, that services, that area is going to be Childers.

Speaker 2: (09:35)
So as you can tell, and then of course the freshmen academy, the entire city goes to that school. And then the entire city, um, is also going to go out to the high school, which is in north broken arrow. So, like I said, when considering building new homes in broken arrow, um, you are going to, uh, have a great option in broken arrow, public schools, um, nice and diverse, lots of educational opportunities and, um, just a great school district for, um, families and young children. So, um, we’ll go ahead and talk some more about something else next week. But for this week, this has been your podcast about new homes and broken arrow, and we’ll see you next time.
